A global virtual gathering created in response to the widespread disruption, job loss, and uncertainty facing the events industry during the COVID-19 pandemic, designed to mobilize support, share resources, and create tangible pathways forward for displaced professionals.

How I Lead the Project
In my role as Head of Strategic Partnerships at Engamio, I led the end-to-end production of EMPOWER Our Events Industry, anchoring the initiative in empathy, urgency, and collective action.
I mobilized 24+ industry partners across event technology, DEI, career coaching, and professional associations, aligning them around a shared goal: supporting event professionals navigating displacement and career transition. I curated a diverse lineup of thought leaders and solution providers, ensuring the program delivered both emotional reassurance and practical next steps.
I also led the creation of the Engamio Empower Scholarship, designed to remove financial barriers to upskilling and professional development, while fostering direct connections between participants and organizations actively hiring.
Throughout the project, I acted as a connector bringing together organizations, individuals, and resources to respond quickly and meaningfully during a period of crisis.
Impact & Why It Matters
The initiative engaged 200+ global participants, awarded two professional development scholarships, and directly connected 25+ professionals with hiring organizations.
By activating a multi-sector coalition during a period of industry disruption, the program strengthened community resilience and demonstrated how human-centered, partnership-driven leadership can turn uncertainty into action and connection into demonstrated opportunity.
